The World Baseball Classis (WBC) is an international baseball contest with players from professional teams representing each country, unlike Olympic baseball with amateur players. It started in 2006. The Korean team got fourth place in 2006 and runner-up in 2009. The 2013 WBC Korean team has Ryu Jung-il, the manager of the Samsung Lions, and many outstanding players.
