Keimyung University students and faculty members helped Seong-ju residents who had been damaged from flooding after typhoon Sanba. About 200 people from Keimyung University worked hard to repair houses and roads and help farmers who suffered damage to their crops.

Jang Hyun-il, president of Keimyung University’s student union, said that every student who had volunteered expressed their own regrets and did their best to help. For 2 days, they provided their helping hands to reconstruct the town, and they will provide more help to them.

In addition, KMU is going to give scholarships to students whose families were harmed from the flood. Before this disaster, Keimyung University has done this three other times: in 1998, 2002 and 2006. The damaged area and inhabitants’ losses are quickly being restored by help from Keimyung University.
