Special Lecture on the Multilingualism of Europe and German’s Role

There was a special lecture on the multilingualism of Europe and German’s role in it at the Hengso Museum on Wednesday, April 4th. Education about German culture has been expanded at Keimung University after a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between KMU and the German Culture Center was signed. Seo Jung-soo, the director of the International Interchange department, officiated at the lecture. Professor Hans-Jurgen Krumm presented the special lecture, which was supported by this program,.

Hans-Jurgen Krumm German language and literature, English, philosophy, pedagogy and educational psychology in Tubingen University. After that he worked at Hamburg University and Wien University.

Additionally he is a representative of the International German Teacher Association and Association of German as a Foreign Language. The special lecture began with a welcome address by Kim Nam-young, of and Eberhard Weller, Vice-President of the German
Culture Center in Korea.

Prof. Hans-Jurgen Krumm lectured on the present situation in the EU, pointing out the contrariety of European language policy and suggesting education policy guidelines that the European Council has to develop. Hans-Jurgen Krumm also discussed diversity and multilingualism in the curriculum of education and . Professor Hans ended the lecture with a question and answer period.
