1. Please introduce your home town and your country’s famous tourist attraction.

Gleno is where I was born and raised. It is the center of the district of Ermera which is located in the west central part of East Timor. Ermera is famous for coffee trees and also sandalwood. This tree is very famous because it can be used to make perfume. East-Timor also has several tourist attractions such as Christ the King statue located in Dili, the capital, and also Pope John Paul II Monument. A lot of foreigners come there for taking pictures because the view is really nice.

2. I heard that you are good at speaking Korean. What is your special method to speak Korean?

Well, actually there are a lot of ways to speak whether it is Korean, English, Spanish, or Chinese. Don’t feel shy with people who know the language that you are studying. Spend time with them and try to talk as much as you can. Also, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Practice again when you find it hard to memorize Korean words. Don’t worry too much. Use your own way to solve your problem. However, don’t memorize too many words. Just five or ten words a day is enough. Then practice it again until you really get the exact words.

3. How did you come to Korea, and why did you choose Keimyung University?

I knew Korea through Korean dramas and also the World Cup which was held in Korea in 2002. I applied for a Korean government scholarship to learn Korean and its culture. After coming to Korea, I learnt Korean for one and a half years and then I moved to Keimyung University because I heard in Keimyung some classes were given in English.

4. What do you want to achieve during your stay in Korea?

The most important things I would like to achieve are to learn deeply about business administration, which I am studying, and to master the Korean language. Also, I want to know Korean culture deeply and how to do things fast like Korean people. When I go back to my country, I will implement it. I want my country to be as developed as Korea.
