Earlier this year, KMU got permission to establish the College of Pharmacy from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. In the first recruitment of new students for the College of Pharmacy, the competition rate was 11.4 to 1.

According to the KMU Admissions Team, 285 people applied for the College of Pharmacy, which has an entrance quota of 25 students. The entrance quota for the Dept. of Pharmacy was 15, and 167 people applied. The competition rate was 11.1 to 1. Of the 15 successful applicants, the Dept. of Pharmacy will recruit 5 students from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area through a special screening process. In the case of the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals, 118 applicants competed for 10 vacancies.

The College of Pharmacy will select five times the number of people to be actually recruited on December 31. Then, they will have in-depth interviews on January 13. On February 1, they will announce the final selections on the KMU Web site. Kang Mun-sik, the chief of admissions at KMU, said KMU has been preparing to run the College of Pharmacy by inviting great scholars and providing special scholarships.
