On September 28, Kim Bum-il, the mayor of Daegu, gave a special lecture to Keimyung University students in the Bauer Hall multimedia room. The topic of his lecture was “Global leadership”.

Kim Bum-il explained global leadership using many interesting examples. Furthermore, he said, “It is important to have a good command of a foreign language to survive in global society.” On another point, he stated, “The economic condition of Daegu is in crisis now because the speed of industrial development in Daegu is very slow. To develop the industry it is necessary to attract many conglomerates, procure land for factories, and host international events like the 2011 IAAF (International Amateur Athletic Federation) World Championships in athletics.” After the lecture, students asked questions about political issues related to Daegu and personal questions about him.
