Dongsan Medical Center of Keimyung University contributed medicine and medical supplies worth 3 million dollars to Kyrgyzstan.
On June 30, medicine was sent along with 1,500 million won which Daegu-Gyeongbuk International Exchange Association had raised for malnourished children. As there are many casualties and refugees due to a pro-democracy movement in Kyrgyzstan, it was decided to deliver medicine and medical supplies as a form of relief. The Embassy of the Kyrgyzstan Republic in Korea, and the association of Korean residents, requested assistance and Dongsan Medical Center responded positively.
In addition, Dongsan Medical Center dispatched volunteers to work in the medical service in the capital of Kyrgyzstan in 2008 and has expanded non-governmental interchange.
