Nowadays, people are increasingly turning to elective surgery in order to change their image or get rid of an inferiority complex. The following is a list of questions on plastic surgery.

1. Are you satisfied with your appearance?
① Very satisfied (16%) ② Satisfied (45%)
③ Not satisfied (28%) ④ Very unsatisfied (11%)

2. What do you think about elective plastic surgery?
① I wouldn't have it (19%) ② I agree with only essential surgery (15%)
③ I agree with both elective surgery and essential surgery (57%)
④ I don't mind if someone I don't know gets elective surgery (2%)
⑤ Other (7%)

3. If you are thinking about getting elective surgery, what would you get done?
① Appearance (eyes, nose) (55%) ② Profile (chin, forehead) (14%)
③ Breast surgery (enlargement, reduction, or breast lift) (4%)
④ Line treatment (Botox injection) (2%) ⑤ Liposuction (9%) ⑥ Other (16%)

4. If you have had elective surgery, which part did you have done?
① I haven't done elective surgery (76%) ② Appearance (eyes, nose) (14%)
③ Profile (chin, forehead) (2%)
④ Breast surgery (enlargement, reduction, or breast lift) (2%)
⑤ Line treatment (Botox injection) (1%) ⑥ Liposuction (0%) ⑦ Other (5%)

5. If your boyfriend or girlfriend is thinking about getting elective surgery, are you OK with that?
① No (31%) ② OK with 1 part of body (29%) ③ OK with 2 parts of body (20%)
④ OK with 3 parts of body (4%) ⑤ OK with more than 4 parts of body (16%)

The Keimyung Gazette found that more than half of respondents answered that essential surgery is acceptable but elective surgery is not acceptable. Also most students answered that if they have elective surgery, they want appearance surgery.
