Keimyung University plans to establish a special institute related to Korea culture.

As folktales are often being overlooked, a special institute plans to do folktale studies, looking into their simplicity, rusticity, practicality and our ancestors’ humor and comicality. Professor Kwon Jeon-soon said, “I take much pride in establishing the special institute for the first time in Korea. I will not only concentrate on Korean folktale studies but also other folktale books, and hold exhibitions for foreigners.” The traditional folktale institute plans to open on April 20th at Daimyung campus.

Also, a tea ceremony institute plans to open on April 8th at Seongseo campus. Professor Kim Soon-jin, research director of the tea ceremony institute said, “These days, our cultural tea tradition is in the limelight among the press. I would like to hand over and develop tea tradition. I hope to publish related books about cultural tea-traditions and look for ways to popularize it in connection with the tea industry.”

In these ways, Keimyung University will contribute to the exploration of Korean culture and popularize it to the public.
