The 2008 Daegu International Youth Festival was held under the auspices of the Office of International Affairs from August 12 to 18 in Keimyung University, Daegu City, and Gyeongsangbuk-do. In this festival, 113 students participated: thirty students from Keimyung University and eighty three foreign students from ten countries with cities affiliated as sister-cities to Daegu City. Starting from the opening ceremony, held on August 12, various programs like a campus tour, lectures on the Korean language, a field trip to Donghwasa, samulnori, and meetings with home stay families took place. On May 28, under the auspices of the Department of Creative Writing, Shin Han-sol, who produced The Art of Fighting and Garoojigi, gave a lecture entitled “I know, but should I say?” at room 354, Youngam Hall. Shin Han-sol lectured on his life in movies – how he became a movie director and how he has lived his life as a movie director– and talked about many episodes which happened while making The Art of Fighting and Garoojigi. Hengso Museum ended the exhibition "Treasures from a Golden Age of China" on February 24, and reopened on April 1. The regular opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and it is closed on Sundays and national holidays. The permanent displays consist of two exhibition halls which display remains from the Old Stone Age to the Age of the Three Kingdoms and from the Age of Three Kingdoms to the period of Joseon Dynasty.
