The 2010 Korea Grand Prize in Global Medical Treatment Marketing

Dongsan Medical Center Received the Grand Prize for Attracting Foreign Patients

On April 31, Dongsan medical center of Keimyung University was awarded ‘The 2010 Korea grand prize in global medical treatment marketing'. iMBC, Donga.com, The Daily Sports, the Korea Tourist Service and the China·Korea Medicine and Medical Treatment Exchange Association sponsored the award.

This grand prize is designed to promote hospitals that attract foreign patients. The organizers examined many hospitals through expert investigations, online investigations and monitoring hospital systems for three months, and Dongsan medical center was selected. As a result of winning the grand prize, Dongsan medical center is recognized as being good at ‘attracting foreign patients’ in the Daegu-Kyungbook area. Dongsan medical center has been offering round-the-clock interpretation services and foreigner insurance services. It also made a medical agreement with the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea in 2000.

The director of Dongsan medical center, Jung Chul-ho, who is a professor of Mental Science, said, "Dongsan medical center has treated foreign patients since 1967 and we want to develop medical services for foreign patients with several years worth of know-how and build a medical museum and history center. By attracting patients from Southeast Asia where the medical treatment and equipment lag behind ours, Dongsan medical center will give an advanced medical service for them."
