The ' Hwagyeae' exhibition, which means peaceful in Korean, is being held at the Daegu branch of Lotte Gallery, where graduates of art colleges in Daegu. It targeted 70 students who had passed a special entrance examination for local talents as well as to offer equal opportunities for underprivileged class. A special exhibition is being held from September 19 to December 8 at Keiymung University Hanso Museum. The exhibition theme is 'Congguk-ri culture during the Bronze Age: establishment of a settlement agricultural society and ancestor worship culture'. Songguk-ri culture is found in the Yeongnam region, and is known to have influenced Japan's Yayoi culture. Through a special exhibition titled "Songguk-ri Culture of the Bronze Age," visitors can reflect on the excavation of the Songguk-ri site in Buyeo which shows the shape of the rice farming village and the culture of ancestor worship.
On November 9, a music program called ‘The Noon Organ Music Festival’ was held at Adams Chapel. The performer was Anselm Winfried Muller, a professor of philosophy at the University of Chicago in the U.S. He entertained the audience and played ‘Praludium und Fuge uber.’ The performance program for the evening was 19th century romantic German organ music, and the composers were three German composers. A cornerstone dialogue organized by the Foreign Ministry was held on November 12. The topic was: A conversation on peace, friendship and the future. Representatives from the U.S. and Canadian embassies in Korea attended this event along with hundreds of students and professors. The dialogue also held a question and answer session, as well as provided opportunities to communicate views on the nation’s foreign policy and the Korea-U.S. alliance. Late in the afternoon on the October 24 , two wild boars were spotted walking around at the Sungseo Campus at Keimyung University in Daegu. One of the wild boars was shot in 30 minutes by a team of officers at the Dalseo-gu Office, while the other has failed to be captured as the officers could not find its tracks. Meanwhile, experts advise that if you encounter a wild boar you should slowly walk away while looking straight in their eyes as wild boars attack them when you run or shout. In addition, you can avoid a crisis if you quickly hide by hiding behind trees and rocks.
The Keimyung Cultureful Festival was held on October 1 and 2 by the 36th Whole Club Union. The 3 events called ‘the Truth, Justice and Love’ were opened in 3 different places, around The Bauer Hall and the Main Stadium, and in front of the Main Gate of KMU. Also, on the Red Block streets in front of the east gate, there were concerts. Many students enjoyed the festival by participating in the events and eating snacks from the food trucks and booths.
The 6th Hyundai Motor Group Drama & Music Festival for Universities, which is Korea’s largest scale fesitval, was held on September 2. 23,000 students and 75 teams from 65 universities participated in this festival. Urine Town’s musical which is a team from the Stage Play and Musical Department at Keimyung University won the grand prize for the best individual director prize, and the bronze trophy for group performance at this year’s University Musical Festival which was the biggest ever.
