On May 19th, 2023, Keimyung University held a Chicken & Beer Garden Party where Keimyung University’s professors and students, including the president, could mark the 124th anniversary of its foundation. On May 10th, 2023, Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, was invited to give a special lecture on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management at Keimyung University's Ui-yang Hall Un-je room. This special lecture was held under the theme of ESG management and college life during the global climate crisis. In addition, this special lecture was held at the request of Keimyung University, which introduces and practices ESG management. Tampere University is a public university in Tampere, Finland. On January 1, 2019, Tampere University and Tampere University of Technology were merged to form a new university. It is the second largest university in Finland and it is considered one of the most diverse educational programs in Finland. The Keimyung blood donation event was held from May 9th to May 11th. This is the event organized by Keimyung University and the Korean Red Cross and is a meaningful event that saves lives with the participation of professors, employees, and students at Keimyung University. Students participating in the event not only received four hours of volunteer work but also received blood donation souvenirs.
Keimyung University's Dongsan Library and Seoul National University’s Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies have signed a business agreement to strengthen academic exchange activities related to the collection of materials. Through this agreement, both parties promised to discover collective materials, utilize research results, and work to jointly benefit the two institutions.
A new project called Breakfast for 1,000 won was created from the donation by faculty and staff of 1% of their salary, and will be operated from May 8th to June 21st to help Keimyung University students improve their eating habits. The breakfast will be provided to 200 people on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 am to 11:00 am on weekdays in Bauer Hall basement restaurant.
On March 21st, KMU International Lounge held a Welcome Party for the foreign exchange students and their Korean buddies. The party began at 6 PM and wrapped up at 8 PM. At the party, both Korean and International students gathered and got to know each other, eating pizzas and fried chickens provided by the lounge.
Two Keimyung University students received the President’s Award of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The WE-MEET project provided opportunities for students to develop proficiencies by experiencing future job fields. They successfully performed a project called Realistic Media Regionally Specialized Contents Production, which supported manufacturing reality-based simulations by utilizing various game servers, such as Photon, Photon Chat, Playfab, and AWS.
