Let's Go on a Visit

Pink Cherry Blossoms in Jinhae

From April 1 to 13, the 46th "Jinhae Gunhang Festival," was held in Jinhae City, which is also famous for its cherry blossoms.

The origin of the festival goes back to April 13, 1952, when a statue of Admiral Lee Sun-shin was erected in his memory at Bukwon Rotary.

Since 1963, annual memorial ceremonies have been held to commemorate his patriotic spirit, and it has become one of the typical spring events in the Jinhae festival. On April 4, to enjoy the festival and cherry blossoms, I took the last train to Jinhae.

As soon as I disembarked from the train, I found Jinhae's beautiful cherry blossoms had already come into full bloom, and I could smell their sweet odor. Many people were enjoying the beautiful sight, and delightful music rang in our ears. When I followed the joyous rhythm of the music, I could see "Wind Music Festival" being held on a special stage at Jungwon Rotary. In this festival, the navy, air force, and army performed military band performances and honor guard performances.

The next day, I went to Yeojwacheon Bridge and the naval base headquarters of Jinhae. Yeojwacheon Bridge is already known as the shooting place of the drama Romance.

From Park Land, an amusement park, to Jinhae Girl's High School, 1.5km of cherry blossoms make a tunnel. It was a beautiful sight. It was less crowded than the downtown of Jinhae, and it was more enjoyable to take a walk along the tunnel.

I would highly recommend you to visit Jinhae not only because of its beautiful nature but also for its long history. To enjoy more attractive spring sights of Korea, I recommend you to visit Jinhae without any hesitation.
