Students form the Department of Theatre Arts won second prize at the 1st Daegu International Musical Festival with their musical, Jekyll and Hyde. The students performed two sold-out shows on June 6 at the Daegu Citizen Center. An audience member said, "The actor playing Dr. Jekyll had a great voice and all the actors danced very well."

Fourteen Korean university teams and a Japanese university team attended the festival. The Keimyung University team consisted of 31 students from the Department of Theatre Arts, two students from the Department of Music Production, and one student from the Department of Voice.

The students had been preparing for the competition for a long time and they had a trial performance at the Daemyung Dong campus on May 28. The award ceremony was held at Suseong Artpia on July 2.
