Every summer there is an event held to promote the excellence of the mud flats distributed around the Chilsan coastal waters on Korea’s west coast, one of the world’s top-5 mud flats. Yeonggwang’s sea salt is also famous for rich minerals and germaniums. In order to promote the world-class mudflats and sea salt together, the Yeonggwang Mudflat Festival has changed its name to Yeonggwang Mudflat and Sea Salt Festival. This festival offers a variety of programs, games, food and drink. You can dig for clams, play mudflat tug-of-war and try barley makgeolli or barley bibimbap.
