On April 28, KMU President Synn Ilhi carried out fund-raising with faculty members through Keimyung Caritas. 50 million won was collected and delivered to Daegu Community Chest of Korea in order to help the families of the Sewol ferry victims.

KMU student council also conducted several programs. They donated part of their welfare scholarship. Furthermore, they are conducting a fund-raising campaign.

In addition, to mourn the Sewol ferry victims, KMU decided to delay events for the 60th anniversary of the university. KMU also canceled the spring festival in May, and it will be replaced with volunteer work by members of the student council.
