I think splitting the bill is effective and a good way for both a man and woman when having a date. Two people have a date, not just one person, so it is not fair that only one person pays. Generally, men usually earn more money than women, so people think that men should pay all, or at least more, expenses when dating. However, that attitude does not consider a man’s situation. In that case, men have too much burden. A person who pays is unwilling to go to expensive restaurants or go shopping. Also, if one person pays the expenses, the other person could become insensible about prices. When sharing expenses, there is a greater possibility to find good places and restaurants, and they can enjoy more things. So, I think sharing expenses is more effective and a better method.

Go Dutch, or break up! In 5 words, I assert my opinion on going Dutch. Even in a romantic relationship, the couple should go Dutch. It is one way of showing responsibility in a relationship. The relationship is maintained by both people. Money, as a medium of financial interaction, should come from both sides. With going Dutch, a person will learn the other’s personality better, which will lead to a better relationship.
Another reason is for individual welfare. How far they will keep as a boundary is as important as how close they will be. A distinction between lovers will make a person feel respected. If they go Dutch, they can set their own standards, both individually and cooperatively. How about discussing with your lover going Dutch?

In my opinion, going Dutch is a good method for a couple to use to have a good date without having money troubles. However, most Korean women expect and hope men will pay all the expenses of dating. In reality, most men feel too much pressure to pay all the dating expenses. It is difficult to figure out the causes of women's dating expectations. I think we need to find a reasonable solution to reduce the financial burden for men. I highly recommend that couples have joint accounts for their dating expenses. Love, I think, has to be based on mutual respect and consideration. A one-sided burden for the expense of dating causes incomplete relationships. Ladies, Let's go Dutch.
