The Most Impressive Memory This Year

Joining the Flash Mob Club is one of my most memorable experiences in 2012. As usual, I was passive and quiet, but my friend convinced me to join the club. When I first met the club members, they seemed to get along really well. For this reason, it was quite hard for me to get close to them. However, while preparing for a flash mob event in Dongseongno, I made many friends and I learned how to get close to people. After performing, I felt a sense of achievement and passion. Flash mob was the activity that I invested a lot of time in and it also comprised a large proportion of my thinking in 2012. Through the Flash Mob Club, I become outgoing and gregarious. I want to tell KMU students to keep challenging themselves.

For a year, I’ve gone through a lot of things. Some were tough and challenging but they helped me, leading me to better future. I’ll tell you one example. I have worked as a private school teacher for a year. As all of you know, a teaching job is to teach academic knowledge. Unfortunately, I was very bad at communicating with my students. I even used to say discouraging words such as “I don’t want to teach this class anymore.” or “Your performance is so low that I can’t help you.” But other teachers gave me advice and helped me find my own charisma. I still think there are more things for me to change. Fortunately, I am changing and becoming a teacher who knows how to help my students.

Two months ago, I bought a smart phone for seventy thousand won. The seller said he would send it on the day when he received the money, so I trusted him. Then he said he was so busy that he couldn’t send it to me that day. He said he would send it by quick service the following day. The next day, he said that he sent it by quick service, but he said he did not know the company’s name, address or phone number. I trusted him and kept waiting, but I realized that he lied to me. I finally made an agreement with him, but I feel annoyed whenever I think of that memory. Because of this, I am determined to be careful when buying things on the internet.

I taught students in a mentoring program last summer. I was a little nervous before my first class, but I was really enthusiastic. I taught math to 5th graders, so I thought the mentoring program would be easygoing. I was wrong. Everything was beyond my control. They did not want to study with me. I was embarrassed. I didn’t want to go to school, even though I was a mentor! Soon I realized that my attitude was the most important. After that I tried hard to interact with my mentees and finally I was sure that I succeeded a little. At that time, the mentoring was really hard for me, but I know it made me a better person.
